Despicable Me 3 will once again have Steve Carell as Gru, but he will also play a second character. Carell will voice both Gru and his twin brother, Drew. He has not yet been introduced in the Despicable franchise. Gru and Drew are identical twins and the only things that set them apart physically are their wardrobe and Drew’s blond hair. Trey Parker (South Park) has been cast as the bad guy, Balthazar Bratt. This new antagonist is a former “’80s child star who has been pissed at the world since he hit puberty and his show was cancelled” (cinemablend.com). Despicable Me 3 takes over theaters June 30, 2017.
